The scale above is an approximation of the relative softness of the wools in the shop.

The scale shown is qualitative only, and is intended to give an idea of potential uses of yarns by sheep. Certain people may be more or less sensitive to the “prickle” factor that comes with wool. Wools were not tested for micron count.

Note that spinning method can have a large impact on a yarn’s softness. If you have any questions about how to spin a particular wool, please drop me an email!
